Lee made landfall with near-hurricane energy within the Canadian province of Nova Scotia on Saturday as a post-tropical cyclone, the U.S. Nationwide Storm Middle mentioned. The typhoon had most sustained winds of 70 mph, slightly under the 74 mph threshold for a Class 1 storm, consistent with the company.
The onetime storm moved up the Atlantic Ocean this week, threatening the U.S. East Coast with life-threatening surf and rip currents.
On Saturday, Lee used to be lashing portions of New England with heavy rain and inflicting unhealthy typhoon surge.
